Experience
President of the “Solutions Incubator” Society
Solutions Incubator is a society very dear to my heart. I’ve watched it grow from a measly 6 to over 30 active members. This society is known to be a hub of innovation at Harrow Hong Kong. Initially this society tackled small problems around the school such as a boarder sign out system. Since then teachers and students alike approach us with challenges, confident in our ability to deliver results. Currently I act as the president of the society, some roles I do include - hosting weekly meetings, project management, and also leading certain teams in ongoing projects. Through this experience, I have improved my leadership and ability to motivate others to the best of their abilities! Below is a photo of my team I previous led for the school signout project.
Pupil Dialogue Council
The student council of Harrow Hong Kong, elected by over 240 students and worked with a council of 12. I acted as the mouthpiece of my year group, transmitting opinions and not being afraid to disagree with the higher ups of the school. Led initiatives such as fixing the school bathroom facilities and conducted surveys to check for pupil satisfaction. Was able to raise overall satisfaction of student facilities from 3.6 to 4.2. Using this role I was able to communicate and implement initiatives from Solutions Incubator swiftly.
Organizer/Volunteer at Saint Barnabas Society Home
This is an organization that I’ve been working with, aiming to provide underprivileged kids with a society where they can feel comfortable no matter who they are. I volunteer there on weekends in which I organize fun interactive STEM sessions where kids can have fun whilst learning some science. Other than STEM sessions I teach them english and also act as a friend and hanging out with them.
Vice leader of robotics team
I am currently the vice leader of the robotics team. I develop and plan out components of the robot we use for the VEX V5 competitions we compete in. As a leader, I aim to not only create and develop good plans but also to motivate my teammates throughout our preparation for competitions. Through robotics, not only have I learnt about the ins and out of robotic components but also the importance of staying flexible in decision making. Robotic competitions require robots with extreme amounts of efficiency and being flexible is the only way to achieve that.
Peel House council member
I have been in the Peel House council for over 4 years, leading events in school including house drama, music and charity events. Beyond that, I am a “wise” older member of Peel House, I act as a counsellor and friend to the younger kids. Below is a photo of a small team I assembled for a taco stand aimed to raise money for charity. We raised over 6000 HKD in 3 nights!
